So i had posted awhile back about swapping a clutch myself.
I have never done this before and own a service manual and printed out a write up about it.
It took me and one other guy 10 hours to do the whole swap. It actually wasnt that hard. and i owned all the tools except a cept of 12pt torx that i got from auto store for $7 and a set of crowfeet wrenches helped on a couple of the bottom tranny bolts.
Finding someone to resurface the dual mass flywheel was a pain but after 7 shops someone got it done for $50... a little higher than usual but still reasonable considering every clutch shop said it was impossible and i have to buy a new one.
all and all i was pleased and thought i would share since everyone basically said i shouldnt do it myself, but im fairly broke and refuse to pay people to do work on my cars

As for those bottom transmission bolts, dont put them back in. You really dont need them in there and it will make life easier if you ever need to pull the transmission again.

Normal price to resurface our dual mass flywheel is around $100-$150, but SB does it for free when buying a clutch and CM will do it it for a very small fee. Most shops wont do it becaues they dont have the correct tools or just dont know how to cut it.

They did a good job. They had trouble getting the pins out but they got it done

Nice ! Glad you were one; able to fix the car, and two; prove others wrong that you could do it..... saving money along the way. Thumbs up !
