Grinding while attempting to accelerate.
So over the winter I slid my car into a curb and bent some control arms on my right side. I parked her until spring, replaced all the control arms on the car, and hadn't had much time to really take it out of the driveway since.
Today was the first day I finally had a chance to play with my car and when reversing out of my driveway, I heard a few pops that caused my car to shake. I shifted back into 1st to get back into my drive way so I can examine the problem yet she wouldn't move. When I'd accelerate I'd hear a grinding noise that sounded like metal on metal and the car would just rev, not spin tires at all. It was getting rather dark out and I have no garage to speak of so I couldn't get under to examine the vehicle. From this rough description does it sound like maybe I broke an axle/cv joint? I've been using this vehicle as my "Into to car mechanics" vehicle, and she's been a bit of a doozy, so I apologize for not being more descriptive. Thanks in advance!
