So today, after getting of work, I was exhausted (laying block and shoveling concrete all day), and not thinking AT ALL, and accidentally shifted from 3rd to 2nd instead of 4th. Needless to say the car just about jerked to a complete stop and made a hideous noise. LATER SYNCHROS!! I was so pissed. Sure enough, after getting on the main highway, I gave it the 5th gear test, and the needle jumped about half an RPM each time. Not much, but you'd be mad too when it never used to move one bit. THEN, I realized today, after doing the airbox mod to my car yesterday, that yes it sounds a little better and a tiny bit louder, but then it hit me, I LIVE ON A FREAKIN DIRT ROAD. To get to my house I have to drive 5 miles along a bumpy, back woods, powdery dust filled road. Don't ask me why that never occured to me yesterday, because I have no clue. I feel like such a retard. Especially after now I'm getting weird feelings in when I give the car gas when the temp is kinda cold. Almost like bogging throttle surges. I've probably accumulated about a pound of dust in there.... My boost also seems to have tapered off. I have no boost gauge, and am kinda flat broke, but I think I'm gunna need one after the stupid mistakes I've done to my car. Can anyone help me out with a link to a legit one for a reasonable price? I'm gunna need a new fender well along with that too I guess. The airbox with the holes in it won't be a problem if the fender well is closed will it? Cause I know I can't replace that right now also...

 

just tape off the holes on the fender well and it will curb alot of the dust.

How fast into thrid. Becuase i downshift(everyonce and a while) into 2nd from third at 40MPH. But i think the 2.8 Trans is setup a tad different than the 1.8

 

it was around 40. But its not like I rev matched or babied the clutch out or anything, just a straight hard shift into 2nd.
