Hey, i'm lookin into goin bt. But there's something i don't understand... From what i've read it is FAR more easy to instal/tune/maintainan elim turbo. Right? If thats true than why would someone opt for the full gt28rs when (acording to chao's bt write up) an elim version (gt71r) has the same power possibillities?

 

full setup has faster spool and going bigger is easier. I am in cali so i am going gt71r elim in the next few months. I would be going full setup but it will not pass the visual smog test in cali. The elim bolts to the stock mani so u cannot c the turbo upgrade and therefore pass the visual test for smog. Cali sucks for this, any turbo mod in cali is technically illegal![:@]

This kit, plus high-flow turbo inlet hose and high-flow fuel pump are needed. Add another $4-700.

 

what does elim mean ?

 

The 71r rocks. seriously. I had one on a 240sx i built a while back and it was definitely worth the coin. Spools fast, capable of good power, Disco Potato.

 

I dnt want to sound like a idiot but does any one wich turbos bolt on to the stock manifold other than this one?

The K03/K04 and eliminators will bolt to stock, but get a kit that replaces the manifold with a high flow or the turbo will choke.

 

rayzelito, other then your base K03/K04 turbos, the Eliminator turbos are made to be direct bolt-on.

I recommend you read the Turbo review on the forum. Amazing writeup here (https://www.audiforums.com/forum/b5-...rmation-93439/) and get an idea for yourself.

There is a lot of veriable play here with turbo setups, but expect to drop $4k for the kit if you don't have your FMIC yet and whatever you do get a good FMIC as all these kits are a waste IMO if you don't run like an Evolution Race Works setup.

 

Now this thread talks about pPPT Pagparts.com and their turbo kits. I have never spoken to them, but the forums state they are "streetable" (good off the line and power in low RPM), but I can't say more then what i heard, I just emailed them for an explanation on their kits.

I'm not sure going full frame is an easier, as you will need the same supporting mods and both installs are both straighforward... Elim setup as stated allows you to maintain a "stealth" look by being able to use the stock manifold (or high flow upgrade). they make nearly identical power numbers and spool time, so it is ultimately a personal choice.
