Question gtrs vs gt2871r elim

just sold one of my cars so now im deciding between a gtrs or a gt2871r with a future of water/meth in a few months on stock internals. my goal is about 270-280whp for now and hopefully a little more when i do water/meth if its safe. i drive about half city half freeway. i want a good wide power band. is there a big difference between the two in terms of power? so should i go gtrs or gt2871r? and also what tune?

This thread is a good place to start:

But as for more specific info and where to buy the stuff, I'm not gonna be much help. I'm still tryin to learn this stuff too lol. I'm gonna keep an eye on this thread though, as gtrs elim is where i see my car going eventually

Not much difference between the 2 since they use the same size compressor housing and exhaust housing. What I tell most people that are looking to order either a GTRS or GT2871r elim kit, pick the one that ATP has in stock.

I have actually drag raced 2 different B6's with the GTRS and GT2871r Elim, I didn't feel any difference and they both pretty much ran the same time when ran at the track on the same day.

As for the tune, what year car?

If you have questions about the elims shoot me a PM.

The GT2871r Elim spools up slightly later then the GTRS.

Yes they pretty much had the same power mods, only difference might have been which FMIC kit they had. All on the same Revo tune with the same settings and all the same fuel out of the same cans. I used to have a link to a video of that track day.

Here are vids of the 3 cars with me running them on the same day at Sac Raceway.

Avant with the GTRS

Sedan with the full body GT2871r

B6 Sedan with 2871r Elim

would either of them be safe to run with water/meth as a DD or would that be pushing it?

Both are good. Personally I have the GT2871r Elim and I enjoy it every time I get in my car. But like everyone has already said, they are pretty much the same.

thanks for the replies. what i meant was would it be safe to run them with water/meth injection or would that be pushing it on the stock internals?
