Default Hard to shift 1st and 2nd.

I have this little problem. I dont worry about too much but i will ask anyway.

Symptoms:

- Hard shifing 1st and 2nd only (occasional)
- Its random.I could shift with 1 fingerfor 3 stopsina row and then out of nowherei need to force the shift **** to get into 1st and second.
- Ithappends more oftenwhen the car is on a hill/downhill.

I suspect somemount isworn out. Tran/engine mounts.

Someone has an idea?

i was planning to do the flush this week. But i cant imagine that only the trans fluid can affect the transmission so badly.

I used to have that, I recently changed my clutch/tranny mounts and it went away. I'm betting new tranny mounts will fix that right up for you.

If your grinding it's likely too late. If it's just tough then a fluid change will be in order. I've found that Royal purple gear lube provides a bit better shift feel than redline mtl. Make sure whatever lubricant you use is GL4 spec, GL5 is too slippery.

On the topic of transmissions, mine has a small issue with 3rd. I dont have a problem shifting any of the gears, they're all super smooth to make the shift, but 3rd shimmies a little. It's not like a full shaking of the car type shimmy, just if I happen to have my hand on the shifter **** while its in 3rd, it vibrates, and it vibrates harder if I push it forward just a little, which isnt something I do on a regular basis, it just happens to be that when I first felt it vibrating when I softly rested my hand on the **** while cruising in that gear, I thought it might not have been in all the way so I nudged it forward and it made it worse. Could this be a fluid problem or is it more likely to be the brushings or something just in the shifter and not the tansmission itself?
