Not my cup of tea when it comes to those headlights. They're way too "busy" for my taste.

People tend to get their HID's from DDM Tuning.

You seriously gonna go 8000k? Thats pretty blue/purple, and could get you pulled over - depending on where you live.

Ok, here's my opinion. Those headlights DONT match our cars personality. They look cheap, they'll look bad.

Here's the facts. Those headlights ARE cheap and you get what you pay for. I've heard about leaks, melting and just poor construction about those headlights. If you like the halos, look at my siggy. Those are SONAR headlights, and are much better quality. Now honestly I'm not telling you all this just because mine are for sale and I want you to buy them, I just am giving you the low down. But mine are for sale if you're looking for cheap headlights. I'm not a fan of the halos myself.

As far as 8k HIDs go, man lets stick to 6k and below. 8000 is for japanese cars (and hardly any of those) and it just doesn't look right on Audi. Plus, as Rocky said, they're illegal in a lot of places and the light output is decreased! If you wanna get noticed, find some good wheels, get a nice wax, get tinted and most of all... GET LOW!

Would you consider opening up your stock headlights and putting in some quality projectors? You'll get the best light output that way and you won't have to worry about shoddy construction.

The one upside I will say about those lights (thought i don't particularly care for the style) is that they're one-piece designed to fit directly in the opening left by your stock 2-piece headlights. In order to accomplish that I had to hack up my fenders.

As far as HID's, DDM and VVME are two common choices here. I got mine from the latter and couldn't be happier with them. Mine are 8000k and I don't think they're ricey or tacky looking, they put out way more light than the stock halogens (though less than, say, 6000k HID's do) and I think they look cool. Thats them in my sig picture.

Well they're definitely more blue than whatever Audi puts in their cars from the factory now, and as you mentioned the light output is less than that of a lower color temperature, but I've gotten used to it. But yeah you're right, anything higher than 8000k starts to look purplish. Having the Euro code projectors helps a lot because the beam pattern is different. I'll take a picture of the cutoffs and post it up tonight.

Yet another extremely useful post from you. They look crappy because i took that picture with a crappy camera, from an angle that was in the middle of the beam pattern. The projectors actually put out a ton of light in a pattern that I find very nice to drive with at night.

OP, have you looked at 2-piece projectors at all, like ImTheDevil has in his car?
