Thumbs up Heat shield DIY

Yesterday i was asked to make a write up for the heat shield i made, and here it is. Its pretty crappy but it should give you somewhat of an idea of how to start this project.

Had some spare time today so i went and bough some insulating tape for water pipes or something like that and taped the side facing the filter. I also made a bracket to hold it in place, ill get a picture of it later. The shield works like a charm, i drove today and once i got home i popped the hood, the engine bay of course, was extremely hot, however i stuck my hand to the left of the shield and it was slightly warm, the shield workes better than i expected it to

Any store that sells building materials for houses usually has it in the metal pipe section. Atleast thats where i got mine from.

Any other metal is fine aslong as it is somewhat shiny because that way some of the geat gets reflected. I chose aluminum because it was easy to cut and bend, not to mention it weighs less than the stock shield on the airbox.
