might try and find someone around you first to make sure if it is the tune or the car

i just installed the bkr7e's and with in the first minute it started smoking a little bit and after 5 mins it started misfiring. im guessing that its just giving too much fuel and fouling my plugs.

could it be the Uni 630cc Mafless tune? should i give them a call and see if they can switch my tune to a maf'd one because of the problems im having?
Need to look at them while going WOT, IAT readings should be down near ambient temps. If they are way higher or the dip and then start raising with the rpms then the FMIC is not doing the job.

BTW you sure you were reading IAT's, because coolant temps are going to read 85 degs. IAT's are usually read in C degs.

Question

oh ok. i could be wrong about the IAT's then, but it started smoking within the first min of running this morning so i dont really think it would be that.

TurboKraut - when you sent your ecu in, did you chose mafless with ASR (traction control) or mafless without ASR (traction control)? before i sent my ecu in, i called Uni to see which one i needed to choose and he told me to choose mafless with ASR (traction control) could he be wrong? im not even sure what ASR is or if my car has it.

ASR = ESP which is your traction control.

If you went Mafless what did you do with your crank case breather setup?

so i chose the right thing right? (mafless with asr)

crank case breather is the one with the valve right? the one attatched to the TIP? if so i attatched it to my 034 TIP.

Yes. It allows you to still turn the ESP on/off with the button.

Yes, it is the pancake valve which is located at the back of the head connected to tubes that go to the block under the IM and to the back of the valve cover.

i have a mafed tune and no esp.... i more or less asked mike what i should choose when i did mine... but i had the order form open and was going down the list... we chose what i had and needed.... i doubt the esp has anything to do with your issue

ok thanks. im really starting to think that its the tune. i dont see what else it could be when everything i installed is right and brand new. i talked to this APR guy in town that works for audi and he said when stuff like that happens to them, they usually flash their cars with an older tune and it works fine. i will contact Uni tomorrow and see what they can do for me...
