Default Help me determine if this ecu is chipped?

So i bought this thinking it was gonna be a spare when i sent mine in to get chipped.
But it would studder when i punched it and the turbo spooled alot louder than on my other ecu.
then when i got my chipped ecu it did the exact same thing.
i eventually solved the problem by regapping my spark plugs to .028 when they were at .042.

So could this possibly be chipped from the looks of it?
I have yet to try it since i regapped my spark plugs so im doing that right now.
Here are some pics.
Idk why those tabs are on the outside?

Heres the inside,

1)get boost gauge (you NEED one now that you have gotten chipped... you should have actually got one before, but it is mandatory that you go and buy one this week...)
2) answer your own question by looking at the boost gauge... if it goes above 7psi its a chipped ecu... if not, its not.

have fun!

00+ ECUs are bench flashed and do not need to be taken appart-and so there is usually a sticker on on the casing of these ECUs indicating it was flashed.

97-99 ECUs have a chip soldered in. You may have to take the casing off to see the chip. Do that. The chip should have a brand sticker on it. Based on the studdering thing, I'd also guess that it's chipped, too.

So open it up, or put it back in the car now that your plugs are gapped right and see what happens.

edit

Woops missed that second pic... It does look chipped! See that piece of circuit board and chip on top that looks nothing like the rest of the ecu cricuitry? Try it out.

Ok yeah its chipped.
The boost is pretty badass.
I can't tell if i like my speedtuning chip better or this one.

The boost for this chip is in midrange where i feel like on the speedtuning its lower.

I just compared the two.
With this chip it drives fairly normal but when you floor it the boost kicks in.
With speedtuning it seems like it matches the boost to where your throttle is if you understand what i mean?
Its more like the boost is there all the time.

Im taking it apart right now.

Ok so the pink sticker reads: UP 787272. VEY
557P 96 OKT
72.72.98

And next to the sticker there is a M written in sharpie on it...
