Okay, So i just purchased an audi a4 2001 1.8t. The key i have is destroyed and only the manual key works.

I looked up audi a4 2001 key and order a blank key, and i planned on programming it myself and getting it cut from a locksmith.

But then the next day i read that it must match up with the fcc on the key that i have. The key that i have says its for an audi a6. so do i have the wrong fob.
How do i know if the fob i have is for my car.
MZ2 410 819 6 4 (4DO.837.231D) thats what the key says.

i just want to know how i find out what fob will work for my car incase my fob is wrong.

Also is there anyway, i can get a newer audi fob to work on my car. Please advice
