Hesitation around 2300?

My car has been having this issue where when I am taking off from a stop (1st gear) the car hesitates/stutters at about 2300-2600 rpms... not always in the same exact spot but in that area. I notice it a little more with the a/c on. It really does it when I am taking off slow and casual, not if I am "in a hurry" if that makes sense. I don't notice it in any other gear, I don't have a CEL, I don't have a boost gauge (yet) and I don't know anyone that could check for codes. Any ideas? Any questions of things that I didn't mention?
I just bought the car a little bit ago and since then I replaced the stock DV with the 710N, replaced the air filter and vacuumed out the airbox in front of the screen (where the inlet tube is, bunch of leaves and stuff in there), did an oil change, replaced the brake fluid, and switched out the plugs for the NGK copper ones and set them at .028 (none of that was to try and fix anything, just thought it should be done). I have a record showing that the MAF was replaced about 6 months ago too, and the vacuum lines were done around the same time. My sig shows the rest.

THANKS!

Without codes it's hard to say. Most of the big box auto parts stores, (AutoZone and such) will scan for free. Sounds like a misfire. If it is just one cylinder, switch that coil pack to a different cylinder and see if the the misfire follows. If it does, then there is your problem.

Did you happen to switch to a K&N filter? The oil on those can sometimes foul up your MAF sensor. Try cleaning it to see if that helps.

I was leaning towards a mis-fire too, I'll have to check out a parts store and see if they can scan for me. I stuck with an oem filter... I didn't want to risk having any oil kill the MAF.

thanks
