Devil, I would PM you but I think this might help some other drivers. My convenience module got wet along the way, and the alarm created a mind of its own. I actually had two leaks, the ECU box gasket and the sun roof drain on the driver's side rear. I pulled the noise maker out of the trunk, but the flashers still go on randomly, draining the battery. I tried to code out the alarm system with my VCDS Lite, which has been quite useful for years, but my car would not take the recode. basically subtract 8 from the current code as stated in the manual, in my opinion, should disable the alarm. Your advice is welcome and do I need to go to a shop with the real VAG-com? oh, it is a B6, but what the heck. I have the B5, too, so I feel welcome here.
