Default Hi Guys need help please

Hi Everyone,

My first post on here so i hope someone out thier can help me.

Ok my Audi A4, had a problem on Sat was driving fine until i pulled up into the petrol station then i filled up and started again. but the battery light stayed on and the power steering got really stiff, then the temp gauge shot right up, so was undrivable.

Called the RAC and they opened the bonnet and said it was the Alternater/cam belt ? was a thin black belt, so towed me to a local garage and they replaced it and its working ok at the mo, but the garage said if it happens again then i will need to get a new tentioner ? but i dont really want to wait for it to happen again.

So thats not much help as i need the car for work, so my question is can anyone recommend where i can get this part from apart from audi ? as i dont want to be ripped off. I think i would rather buy the part and get a garage to fit it rather than it dying on me again on the way to work.

Any help would be appreciated, i had a look on euro car parts but the site didnt seem to be working properly.

Thx in advance for any help or advice.

Any mechanic can get a belt tensioner from their supplier... Even with their markup it will be around the price you will pay. You won't have to pay shipping or wait for the backed up shipping right now.
