i made my own tensioner tool out of a piece of threaded rod and some random object i had lying around.
this seems simple enough and I just got paid so, i might as well do it. what about the valley plug? i did a quick Google search and nothing like a part came up. is that the half moon hole on the side? If so i believe my VC gasket has that in place already.

well the vc gasket will come with one on its own. But the one under the chain tensioner gasket is the little one you see pictured with the gasket. Theres 2 valley plugs on the head and 2 cam seals. Good idea to do them all at once, but more so the valley plug and chain tensioner gasket, it always get over looked.

along with the C gasket I also need 1 or 2 valley plugs? I will also need two cam seals, and of course the tool. anything else I may need to pick up from the auto part store while I'm there?

VC gasket comes with 1 valley plug
CCT (cam chain tensioner) gasketcomes with 1 valley plug

Not 100% sure but the VC gasket may come with the cam seals. They look like 2 big o rings.

I'll have to check my VC gasket packaging later for this, but now I have a shopping list.

Have you done your fuel filter yet? was planing on getting one from the auto part store since I haven't read anywhere that I should be using the from Audi. Anyone;s thoughts on this?

What was the reasoning behind not using the one from audi?

I did mine, i think igot it from ECS but I cant remeber as I did it forever ago. Its a pain in the ***, but its one of those thing that need to be done. Will help fuel eco and your car will run happier.

I don't have a reason for not using Audi's besides it's probably the most expensive. I just haven't seen anyone express concern for using only this and not something else, So i just wanted to make sure this isn't one of those things you should use OEM for.
