Hit a deer
Be especially careful when you drive at night during the last days of October.
I thought that this will never happen to me. I hit a large deer two days ago. After looking at some nasty scenes of deer related collisions (http://www.b0g.org/wsnm/article/16781, http://www.car-accidents.com/deer-ca...accidents.html) I believe I got really lucky.
It happened super fast. I did not have time to react. The deer just ran in front of the car.
Now I need a front bumper, hood, and headlights.

The insurance will cover the damage. I am waiting for an estimate to be made. They gave me two options: 1) estimate in the bodyshop of their choice; 2) estimate in the bodyshop of my choice.
I am undecided. I am obligated to do the work in their of my choice of bodyshop. I would like to look around and fix the car as I wish.
A friend of mine told me that when he got in an accident the adjuster came to his house and then the insurance company made a check to his name. Is this realistic?
