this sums it all up.... that this is appleforums not orange forums and **** threads like these need to be locked

 

Back in '04 my wife wanted to "go green", so we bought a Civic Hybrid. It was kind of cool at first, but once the novelty wore off I hated it. The worst thing was the non-linear response of both the throttle and brakes. The second worst thing was the lack of any real horsepower. The kicker, though, was when we moved and left it parked in the garage for three months. Once we got settled, I flew back to get it. Pulled it out into the driveway and the dashboard lights up like a jukebox and it stalls out. Had it towed to the dealer, they spent two days with it and decided it was the integration controller (a.k.a, the hybrid control module, a $4800 part). I told them to keep looking, because I wasn't paying for that answer. Got a call from the service manager later, apparently Honda was "investigating this particular failure mode" and would pay for all the repairs if I let some of their factory techs have the car for a couple of weeks. I said OK. Then I went out to the garage climbed into the 944, which was 17 years older, with three times the mileage, and had also been sitting there for three months. It fired right up, and I drove it halfway across the continent without so much as the CD player skipping.

Got the Honda back and it ran just fine (well, as fine as it ever did) until I got T-boned by a drunk on St. Patrick's day a couple years ago. The Honda had side-impact air bags...it would have been nice if they'd worked. So, from my single data point, I have to say that Hondas are unreliable, expensive to repair, and unsafe. Give me a good German car any day!

If no one else is going to say it, I will. Do you ever have something nice to say to those who post here? I've read your posts and you offer some help, but other times you resort to calling a person asking a question to which you think they should know the answer, a noob. Do you honestly think they would ask if they had the answer?

The thread seemed to work itself out until you started going off for practically little to nothing. You having an okay day bro? Take it a little more lightly. The OP was asking an Audi forum group what their take is on Hondas of which many insightful answers were given... if you don't like the thread, don't follow or read it.

A final question for you before the thread is actually locked, did you build your "b5 battalion" or did you buy it that way?

 

i'll answer your last question first... i built my car and did not pay someone to do the work for me

secondly... i tell people to search.... the search feature is there to help people get answers and not post.... starting a new thread is a last resort and if you honestly searched i am fine with you posting a new thread... but if you are asking about head lights or tail lights, bov's or tunes.... you never searched

as i stated, i have no issue with this thread..... but put it in the ot where it belongs... don't clutter a forum like the b5 forum where answers need to/ can be found

 

what happened to the incredibly worthwhile discussion about fruit?

I used to eat oranges all the time, they are really tasty, a bit of a pain to peel but really juicy and delicious. Then one day I chipped my tooth on one of the damn seeds that are in the things. I was soooooo pissed.

Because of my bad experience with oranges, I switched to eating apples. They were far superior to the oranges. You don't have to worry about peeling the apple, you can just eat the skin. The area around the seeds is easily defined and you really don't have to be concerned about biting one accidentally. You really just can't beat an apple. Then one day I pulled an apple out of the fridge that had apparently been in there "a little too long". I bit into it and the inside was black and nasty and horrible tasting. I felt really sick. Turned me off to apples completely.

Now I'm eating nothing but star fruit. I just have to figure out how to cram a bigger turbo into one.

 

i never understood why u cant in fact, compare an apple and an orange.

they're both fruit. they're both sweet. they both have seeds. they're both healthy. both grow on trees. they're both a round-ish shape. i put them in the same bowl on the counter. they can both be purchased in the same section at the store.

they're in the SAME dam niche on a food pyramid!

 

I'm always open to intelligent arguments. That's what makes posting fun.
