Default How much do you think a scrap metal yard would pay for 2 catalytic converters?

getting two cats in my car on friday. I am debating on keeping the old cats to salvage at a yard somewhere. I was wondering if anyone else has done this before??? My only reason not to do it is the thought of putting those dirty cats in my car as I drive to a salvage yard.

BUT, am willing to do it if I get a good price :0) Let me know!

Probably between $70-90 bucks for the pair.

i took one out of a grand am and i think they gave me around sixty for one and it was about the same size as the one in the 1.8t. im guessing you have a 2.8 cause you have two to turn in so i would expect over 100

ENOUGH for crooks to steal them on parking lots.
My friend lost one on his 4-Runner when he parked it at BART (metro) station.

i think about half as much as a test pipe that would replace each is a good way to look at it. unless you live in a emissions state, in which case, a smaller percentage of a HFC. it's free money toward an upgrade.
