Default how much is it worth

first off, hello my name is brayn and im looking at trading my street bike ( 2005 gsxr 600 worth 5500 ) for a 2001 a4 1.8t quatro . from what the seller says "New turbo, Timing belt, water pump and tensioners, new wheel bearings, etc. Car has been meticously cared for. Mobil 1 synthetic every 3k miles and premium gas. " however it has 192k ... do you guys think this is worth it ? it books for around 7500 but still im a little worried

At 192k, that had better be its THIRD timing belt.

Are they asking $7500? That's way too much for that car.

not more than 5500 for the car. The car has some miles under the hood...

who is telling you your bike is worth 5500 bucks? gsxr's tend to bring some cash, even if they are only 600's

+2 on reciepts but you might ask for a little extra.... and what turbo does it have? k03? are there any other mods? not like that raises the value of the car persay, but you might have a good car... get us more info

tell them you are wanting to buy it, and make a list of everything that is wrong........ i used to do that with my mechanic, back when i had one/was dumber..... and it only cost me 35 bucks...... dealer might cost more, call them and find out

if it is a rediculous price, talk to a local vag shop in your town

Definately follow up on the details of the t-belt, don't worry about how many time's it's been replaced, just worry about how many miles since it's last been replaced. Also find out which wheel bearing were done or if it was all of them.

The only thing that would really red light me on this would be the 3K mile oil changes with Mobile 1 synthetic... that's very excessive and sounds like a lie so he's probably lying about the other maintenence too. I hope no one is stupid enough to change synthetic oil every 3,000 miles...

The other thing to pay particular attention to is the front control arms. If they've never been changed they will probably need to be done within the next 20K miles. If it is a manual shift the clutch will probably need to be changed soon too.

What would you pay for a 99 A4 1.8T quattro sport 5-speed with recent t-belt, clutch, wheel bearings, sway bar links, starter, K&N filter, NGK plugs, new tires, and a recent tune-up? I may need to sell mine soon.
