Hi i was wondering if anyone can help me out here, i was trying to get to the 3rd/center brake light on my Audi A4 but i cant take out the cover over the light to get to the actuall light ( i wanted to put a cover over the light, a sticker cover) so if anyone knows how to remove that please let me know . thank you

hey, sorry its 2001 a4 1.8t . i just want to get to the light. i saw these 3 clamps on the bottom do i have to remove them or does the cap on top of the light just come off?

If you have the owner's manual, it should tell you how to do it. Look on the light cover, there are two indentions on each side, push them in and pull back. Cover should pop off.

If you're looking to take the whole light assembly off, you have to pull the deck cover. There are screws on the bottom of the light you'll need to remove to get the who assembly off.

I took mine off and did a DIY of vinyl tape and made a light cover. Printed an Audi logo from Google, laid it on the vinyl tape and cut it out.

So with me getting my back window tinted I want to remove the 3rd brake light so they will tint the whole window instead of just cutting around it. I tried just pushing in on the sides and then pulling but it didn't come off. I also looked in my manual but it doesn't say anything about removal. Got some ideas?

 

i just pulled mine off when i had to change the lights. pull it straight back.

 

Is it a really forceful pull?
