Had my rack replaced and the mechanic used regular p/s fluid now my p/s is gone gone gone. How do I flush the fluid? Found info on how to replace the pump but not how to flush the fluid.

 

flushing the fluid probably isnt going to do it if you dont have any power steering anymore. take the car back to the mechanic and have him redo the whole job for free because he fucked it up. you may also need a power steering pump too. after they fix it, dont go back to that shop.

for future reference though, heres a good way to make a fluid sucker- take a gallon juice bottle and put a small hose in the top next to the neck of the bottle, make sure the hose is on the bottom of the bottle, then silicone/glue around the hose so it doesnt leak. then put a shop vac on the mouth of the bottle and it sucks all the fluid into the bottom. its a handy tool to have.
