How should i go about this?
This winter i was a complete moron and cleaned off my car with what i thought was a plastic shovel (had a metal lip). The worst gashes are on the hood, some on the trunk, and a few scratches on the roof. What im asking is should i get it repainted or buy a hood, trunk lid, and roof from a a website that has salvaged audis and how much would those 3 items cost me?
If you get lucky and find a hood and trunk lid that match your car and are in reasonably good shape, you ought to be able to get both pieces for a few hundred bucks. As for the roof, as you might guess its not just bolted on, so that i imagine is going to have to be re-sprayed. I would start by making some phone calls. See if you can even get your hands on a hood or trunk. If you can't, it's a moot point and you'll have to get all three pieces resprayed anyway. Might wanna invest in a snow brush next year too..
Once you blend the colors you should be able to have it sprayed for under a thousand. Downside to salvage yard good luck finding an A4 B5 in one #2 it's likely going to be scratched somewhere. #3 More than likely the paint wont match even tho it's the same color your car and that car could have been subjected to different things sun/weather which effects paint color. My 2 cents if you are at all capable (some people aren't) do all the prep work yourself and then all you have to pay for from the shop is spray. AND for the love of GOD DO NOT USE some **** company like Mayco.... I will hunt you down and slap you.
