Moved to B5 Section.

There is a chip but for $500 it give your only 10hp. The 2.8 is not a mod friendly car for power.

No way to do your own tuning via OBDII and a laptop. Starfish hit it on the nose, the only tunes I know of for your car run like $40+ per HP. Not worth the money IMO

Correct, lemmiwinks allows you to tweak some things, but only on DBW cars with wide band O2 sensors.

Okay. What motor is a dbw? Mine is 98. Don't now if its 98.5 since I think that's when it changed.
Is there any HP, 0-60, or different internal or bolt ons between the two? if so which one is better?

Im getting wideband, and nos (only 50 shot)

Pretty much id like to do it for timing.
How do you advance timing on an audi anyways? I only know (and barely) how to do it with the distributor cap.

There's zero you can do in terms of tuning a V6, DBW or not. You'll get an increase in the low single digits, if anything at all. In fact basically the only thing changed in a 2.8 tune is a very slight increase in ignition advance because that's all that can really be done. Like I said in your other thread, you're very mistaken if you think you can just swap a wideband O2 sensor in, the most you'll be able to do is connect it to a gauge and read out/log your AFRs, which is completely useless unless you're working on a custom tune. I believe there is one very specific car/engine configuration available only in Europe that had a wideband v6, but again it's pointless because nobody needs a wideband in an NA motor.
