Unhappy I can't believe what happened!

So a couple of months ago my turbo was getting ready to blow, so I took it to a local shop to have it replaced. In the end, I just got the k04 kit from AWE-tuning with the 5.0bar FPR. So after almost 4 weeks of my car being in the shop I just got it back saturday night. Great. Awesome. I have my car back. I feel whole once again. Then this happens.....Last night I was taking a nap at my g/fs parents house. Its garbage night and my car is blocking the way. So her dad moves my car. No problem. I wake up later and remote start my car and walk out a few minutes later. We walk out front only to find my car missing. OH NO! I instantly think someone has stolen my car and I start clicking the lock button to see if I can hear it. I looks to my left and see my car facing me, almost 300 feet down the street, on the other side of a road, and smashed into a house. WTF!!!! Turns out, my g/fs dads leaves my car in gear (I never ever do) and even though my emergency brake was on, it still reversed for about 300 feet missing lots and lots of giant trees, only to hit the EXACT corner of a brick house. Whoa! All in all, since my car only hit the corner of the house there is like a creased line that goes from the trunk to the bottom rear bumper. Thats all. It was a brick house so the crease was very perfect. The damage to the owners house? A kinda broken fence and maybe a couple of bricks I hope. Im still waiting to hear back from their insurance man. This has all been just such a bummer man. Now I have to start my day by going to get an estimate, and stop by my insurance agent. Im sure he'll be happy to hear this one.

Thats one of the craziest sotries I've heard. It's not that devestating, just crazy. Wow. You should have gotten a pic.

But why did it take 4 weeks to get your car done? It might take a n00b half of a day to swap the turbo/ecu/fpr/plugs.

I have some pictures. I can post them alil later, I took them on my phone.

My swap took so long because I actually got my extended warrenty to pay for almost 2/3rds of the swap. I got them to pay for all the parts and all I had to pay was the install which came out to 808 bucks. Not to bad for a brand new K04 with new ecu and all, right.

I just got back from the body shop, and they said that its going to be about 1900 worth of damage. This is the worst. All I know is my g/fs dad better take care of this because this shouldnt come out of my pocket. Besides all that, I can tell the k04 is going to be really nice and a decent base for the kind of power that I was looking for. Only thing is I can't even hit on my car because anything after 5-7 psi my clutch just starts to slip. So I figured I was just get a stage 2 south bend clutch with the 12lb flywheel that is offered for 850. I figured this with exhaust, fmic, injectors, fuel pump, pc-16 software and I think my car should be pretty nice, esp. with all the tv's and what not.

I just really can't believe all the bad luck I've been having with just everything lately. I really just don't know.

Wow man that sucks.. But i hope you have better luck than a friend of mine... he left his car in first and used the remote starter in the morning and whoops right threw the garage door.... Insurance company would not cover it because they told him it was an aftermarket failure and that they had not been informed that it was added tot the vehicle prior to the accident...

Personally, I would not hold that against my gf's dad unless you specifically warned him not to leave it in gear. Otherwise he would not have known to do so.. and the blame lies squarely on your shoulders for not checking before you started it. Just my two cents.

why did he leave it in reverse, normally people leave it in 1st unless the car is facing downhill then reverse would be reasonable

maybe im still hung over but, if the car is in gear w/ ebrake on how the heck is going to roll in any direction.

Even with the ebrake off and vehicle in gear where is going to roll to?

edit:...ok car was in gear when it was remote started.

That is definitely a strange mix of events. Would have been kinda funny if you had actually called the police to report the car stolen though haha. Just say they stole it and ran it into the neighbors house.
