Ok, Can you do this to your Quattro system, change it so that you get more power to the back rather than more to the front?

It already is biased to the rear - factory differential is 3:2 (Rear:Front), the reason it understeers so much is that the engine is mounted in front of the headlights.

But what you want is this:

Increases the bias from 3:2 to 5:1 - in other words, more of the power goes to the rear wheels. And it's not very expensive either!

*edit* I had the wrong ratio for the STaSIS modified differential - fixed.

Our cars are 50/50 front rear torque. The B8 ,2009, A4
will be rear biased.

I think TheRussian discovered on a dyno that that's not true...that the split is more like 40/60 front/rear. At least, I think it was him and I think that's what he found.

I was under the impression that all audi's were set up with a 60/40 front/rear torque split. but i could be wrong too.

Search this on the 'zine. A guy by the name of k0mpresd has many, very informative posts on the subject. He had washers manufactured to replace parts in the stock Torsen to effect a bias change.

I have the stasis center diff and it is awesome. In normal driving conditions the car operates as normal but under load is when the magic begins. The bias does change depending on where you are in the turn and the first time I hit a freeway on ramp that I had been on many times before was sheer enjoyment as I felt like I was being pushed and then pulled through the turn but with total control the whole time.

It was well worth the cost, especially since I did the Neuspeed 19mm rear sway bar with metal endlinks at the same time ......... ....... "It handled like it was on rails"

No. Haladex based systems (TT/R32) are something ridiculous like 95F/5R under normal conditions. It's why a TT drives like a FWD. Torsen-based Quattro (A4-A8) has traditionally been advertised as 50/50 split with the ability to go up to 75% to either axle. Drive a TT "Quattro" then drive an A4 Quattro. Under many conditions, you'll feel a significant difference in response and grip.

B7 (2006) started a new generation of Torsen-based Quattro. Audi advertises it as a 40F/60R split with the ability to go up to 80% in front and 100% in the rear. Drive a B7, you'll immediately note a difference from a B6 with "spirited" driving.

B8 S4 debuts some new funky generation of super-duper Quattro.

to add to what manufan said, the washers will make it seem like a rwd in certain aspects but you will still have the awd. when you're in a turn, more power will shift to the rear tires and as you leave the turn, the power will even up again, leaving you with longer acceleration time throughout the corner. this may be part of my plans for next summer but i'm not sure since almost every bolt on my car is frozen and i don't want to bite any bullets anytime soon again
