I put news paper under my car last night and it did leak, but it was pink, so I'm guessing I have a coolant leak not an oil leak

i checked the areas around the tank, and the tank level is under the MIN line when the engine is off. so i think thats my problem... where could it possibly be leaking from?

alot of places. you really just need to get under there and find it yourself. finding a leak over the internet is next to impossible im sorry to say.

My car has a minor collant leak from one of the two lines that run next to the oil filter. After a few days, a pink "crust" forms around one of the lines and my coolant level will slowly drop under the min level. You could check this place first to try and save time. Like ghost has said, it is next to impossible to find a leak over the internet. At the very least, you need to look for coolant pools or trails, clean them up the best you can, and see if they return. This should point you in the right direction.

If the coolant loss is significant, then buying some G12 is a very good idea. Try your best to keep the coolant at the proper level and do a vigilant search for the leak.

If you havnt done so already, you may want to search the forum for threads related to coolant leaks and common causes.

Let us know what you find.

So the ALD machine in our lab at school is down so I am more bored than usual. Lucky for you. Here's another link that addresses the rear coolant flange which is apparently a common source of leaks.

take it to firestone(who are all not hacks, i work there) and ask for a coolant pressure test, itll cost ya like 25 bucks and you can just decline the work. if its a oil leak ask for a degrease, itll cost ya about the same, and theyll find the source for ya, and then just decline the work.
