Default :::I just really fucked up a "painting lowers" job :::

I'm really really upset right now and wish I hadn't started this project. I thought all was going well with painting my lowers. Had everything done and waited an hour after applying clear coat to remove the masking tape protecting the rest of the car. Here is the result:

the damn masking tape (green 3m automotive masking tape) pulled a **** ton of the paint right off the car. I currently have no idea what to do and want to kick myself

suggestions? Thanks a lot for your time

I can't tell where it peeled in the pics. Did it just peel off your freshly painted lowers? If so, tape it off and do it again.

it peeled at the top of the lowers where I had put masking tape. It peeled the paint right off. I took it off after about an hour... was that too soon or too late? I'm new to this

The longer you let it sit, the better. I would suggest 2 or 3 hours, but it shouldn't have peeled. I'd just try it again. It came out nicely besides that.

how would I go about redoing it? would I have to somehow remove all the paint and clearcoat I applied? If so, what should I use to do so?

thanks for the quick replies

It doesn't really look like that much paint came off. If it's bad, then I guess you'll have to try again. If not, use touch-up paint. The same thing happened to me in a couple of places, but with a little touch-up paint, it looks pretty much perfect. If you don't have the right touch-up paint, you can spray some of the Duplicolor (or whatever you used) into the can's cap and use a foam brush to dab on a few coats.
