Default i searched, but still got a question.

this is related to the FMIC that installed the other day on my car. the turbo outlet pipe to the DV is connected by a garden hose that is actually shoved on the inside of both of them. im pretty sure its making me run 10lbs of boost right now. well i kno im running 10lbs, but im pretty sure thats the reason why. but my question is, since i am now pushing more boost, dosent that basically confirm that there are no leaks in the line or other problems? and it pretty much proves that my speedtuning chip is a bogus one that im now out $200 on right? or does it just prove nothing.im still trying to figure this out here cause i havent had the time to go to the shop, and i also dont have the money to drop on a new chip this week.

if your only spiking to 15, you do not have a 1.5bar chip

still holding boost at 16-17 psig. your use of garden hose impresses me with your ingenuity, but discourages me with your contentment to cheap out on important parts. In reading other posts, it seems mostly that in switching from a (non-leaking system) stock SMIC to the FMIC (non-leaking), there is typically a ~2-3 psi boost drop due to the higher air volume in the compressed air system. Did you ever actually have a reputable Audi familiar mechanic doa boost leak test on your car before the FMIC install? Because I'm really guessing that was the problem. Maybe you even had a leak in the SMIC, and don't have a big leak now that it is bypassed/removed. Get the right hoses and have a real boost check done.

Go to napa and get 1" id heater hose and 2 clamps. Your set up is the stupidest thing ever. No offense but it is.

exactly my point... in mr. caps sig it shows him having a 1.5 bar chip, but hes only spiking to 15. I would say mr. cap has a small boost leak somewhere as well.

the pipe from the turbo outlet is only 1" i think. im gunna keep this temp. cause im gunna get bigger IC piping soon.hopefully bythe end of this week. im going to the shop on thursday(finally!!!) and its one of the best german tuning places on L.I. so they kno what their talking about. if they still think its the chip, then im gunna re-chip it, but if its something else, then i gotta start from square one.

its definitely 2", which is the size of my piping. you actually wana keep the hotside pipe small and the cold side pipe larger. 2" hotside and 2.5" coldside is what i'd recommend. and it also happens to work out nice with the tb hose and turbo outlet hose.
