Seems like it would be the other way around if the new ones look like torx. Triple square looks more like a torx than a poly drive does.

Yeap, the triple square is the old type of head bolt while the new ones everyone sells including the aftermarket ARP/Raceware are all Poly. Did you make sure the new head bolts you bought are the exact same size as the ones that came out?

Might as well just order the poly tool if the new head bolts fit.

yeah they're the same size, just different head. i think ill try telling ecs that they sent me the wrong one... maybe i can get a trade..

im so ******* broke

That is most likely going to be a waste of time. You would still need to pay to ship the one you have back to them before they would even ship one to you. So you end up spending money and then wasting more time.

yay. semi good news. they said it would take about two days, and since i can't even find it anywhere around here I'd be waiting that long anyway. this also saves me some of the money i don't have so that's good.
