Default I think I saw the reason why my ABS light is on.

I was rotating my tires today and I remembered to check out the ABS sensors and wires to see if something didn't look right. I pulled them out and the front right one had been ground down probably 1/8 of an inch. Is it possible to push it in too far, or maybe the ABS ring on the axle is sticking out too much? When I get a new sensor, I'll probably let it stick out a little.

it should be pushed all the way in as far as it will go and then pulled back 1mm to allow an air gap..........

They can be pushed in too far. Just push it in, turn the rotor, and if you hear it hitting the ABS ring back it off a little until it is no longer scraping.

Ok thanks. I kept hearing this high-pitched scraping sound when driving too and figured out that that was the reason. The mechanics that replaced my wheel bearing must have done it. This is what it looks like.
