Timing belt??

Default Timing belt??

Hi guys I own a 97 audi a4 1.8T fwd I bought it when it had 86k miles so I have no idea when the timing belt was replace now the car has 111k miles is there any way I can tell if it needs replacement. On my other b5 the timing belt broke and my valves broke and I sure dont want that to happen again thank you

If you have no idea...replace it. Theres no way to tell and your way over 100k mile point just assume its not done lets think 300 bucks vs 3k

$300 DIY.... thats freaking low if its done by a shop.

i meant it should cost $300 to do the timing belt yourself.
