Im looking at a 00 A4 Quattro
I just test drove this 2000 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro and have some questions...
1. I heard the RR wheel bearing making noise. How hard is it to change? Is it a bolt in hub and bearing or a press in bearing?
2. Air bag light is on. Are there any common problems for this? Sorry I wasn't able to pull codes.
3. Is the clutch pedal adjustable. It was engaing pretty high I thought. Also when I just push it slightly I can feel the pedal is rough like the fingers on the clutch are bent or broke. But its not really too bad and not noisy.
4. The drivers door didn't want to open from the inside but after locking and unlocking the doors it worked. Common issues like the latch is sticky?
Thanks
PS. Anything to look for other than the metioned tomorrow? He said he is going to have it inspected and hopefully if the RR wheel bearing is loose it will be replaced.

the wheel bearing is a press in type i just did mine like 2 weeks ago it took me like 2 hours and that included takeing the hub assembly up to the shop to press the old one out and new one it. pretty easy for me since i have alot of experiance working on **** but any average joe should have no problems just make sure everything is torqued back down to spec.
That is very normal for a stock clutch and there is no adjustment other then to buy a clutch that is designed to engage much lower.
The rough feel could be a bad throw-out bearing binding as it starts to apply pressure to the fingers.

Well that guy wouldn't budge on the price at all even will all the problems. Im going to go and look at another 2000 A4 1.8TQM. The guy says the check engine light is on and is due to the speedo quiting 4 days ago.... Any known problems with that?
