Default Incessant Clicking!

I've got an annoying clicking noise, sounds like some kids toy or a tiny wheel of fortune wheel. clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick all the time.

BTW, not my engine bay. Snagged a decent pic of the airbox from a write-up.

I have the same thing going on, just noticed it today. I do believe that's a check valve, and I gave mine the best inspection I could but couldn't see any severe damage to it. Someone not too long ago posted a picture of a pretty destroyed check valve but I couldn't figure out how to pry mine open to see the inside of it so I ditched the effort. Could someone help us determine why these are clicking, if it's a bad thing to have going on, if it'll fix a vac leak I've been chasing for 3 months, enlighten me if this is a thing I can pick up at Autozone or if it's something I have to order from ECS or something, and scrape me together a picture of a 2.8 engine bay to show where the other check valves are so I can check and or replace those as well. I'm tired of my fuel trims running so off balance and don't know where else to look for vac leaks. Thanks

K I just found out that's actually a purge valve.

Thats about it. I'm not sure why it's clicking, if it's bad that it's clicking. But if clicking is bad, a new purge valve is 67.xx on ECS. Anyone have some insight as to why this valve would be clicking? Is it one of those things that just has to be replaced over time?

Repeatedly and loudly? I can hear it in the cabin at idle, its rather annoying. I've also never heard it before. Had this car over a year now and just barely started hearing that clicking. I'm not challenging your answer by all means, its not hard to tell you've played this game longer than I, I'm just trying to be certain in this matter so thank you for the reply.

I know the hydraulic lifters can make a quiet clicking. Is it possible thats what you're hearing Teeter?

I also am hearing this new sound recently.

weird. Well, thanks for the help. Mine is loud, I can hear it clicking in cabin during idle. It will click slowly and then kick up speed until its almost a constant buzz, then drop down and go away. I think it responds to revs as well
