instaling oil pressure gauge
Most have something that connects to where the oil filter goes, most people dont reccomend it though since many have tendency to leak oil everywhere, and many run the oil direct to the gauge where it can leak all over in your car (and you dont want hot oil in your interior).
You could always use an electric gauge. This prevents the "hot oil in the interior" issue. If you still prefer a mecahnical gauge, you could get one with an isolator - they use a different fluid in the line to the interior, and if a leak does develope, the amount of the leak will be contained.
You do not mention if this is a 1.8T or a 2.8. I know I tried to screw in the sender for the electric gauge I have on our 2.8, and it is too large of a body for the area. Cannot say if the threads would have worked or not. One thing to keep in mind is to "T" the sending until in with the original one so everything on the car works as it should, and the only thing you've done is to add a source of info for the driver/mechanic.
