Installed Amp + Sub Today

4 Attachment(s)
Amplifier and wiring kit came in the mail today so i installed it and my sub.

My amp has speaker level inputs, even though i do have a line output converter there is no need, i used Posi- Wire Taps left over from an old install to tap into the bose amp in the back.

Amp is mounted on drivers back seat for easy access, still need to zip tie a couple wires to make it look neat.

Ran power wire from battery through a rubber grommet by the ECU box, ran power wire down drivers side. I know to take our kickpanels off its a pain in the ass, but i managed to tuck a 4GA power wire underneath it without removal.

Install took me about 4 hours start to finish, taking my time. This car was the easiest out of the ones i've done to run the power wire through the firewall - no drilling etc.

Sub is a 10" Kicker CVR in a ported box. My box is facing the backseats as in sedans with a closed of trunk, it will give you better results if you face it torwards the back seat. In SUV's or hatchbacks with the trunks open along with the cabin its better to face them backward or up.

I tried running the remote turn on to the wire people specified in the pinouts in other installs i found on the web, that was a no go for me - it didnt work, so i quick tucked a remote turn on wire from the amp back up to the front drivers side, and put it in to the windshield wiper fuse. My amp turns on when you turn the key to ACC or have the car on.

Supplies / Equipment used:

Clarion XR2210 Amplifier

10" Kicker CVR in Ported Enclosure

DB Link PK4Z 4 Gauge Power Series Wiring Kit

4 Posi Wire-taps for tapping bose amp

16GA wire to extend tapped wires to speaker level input connects on amp

10GA wire running from amp to subwoofer

Amp Is grounded to the front drivers side hook bolt in the trunk.

For Reference: This was all done retaining all stock equipment, my car has the Bose Symphony II System.

Here are a couple of pics, they are crappy i will repost better ones tommorow:

instead of using a bungee. get a roll of velcro. cut the side that is the rough part in half, tape it to itself and stick it between the box and carpet

01quattro 10-14-2011 12:00 AM

Thats a good idea, i'll pick up a roll sometime, for now the black bungee is fine for me.

That's a massive box for one 10". I should turn my sub around, that's a good idea.

Yeah it is. I got it from my uncle like 2 months ago after he took it out of his maxima, it isnt a custom box though, it came like that from kicker cause the box has their logo indented on it. Its the size of my 2 12" MTX's in my pathfinder.

foxracing4500 10-14-2011 11:53 AM

why not get 2 12" or you just being subtle?

01quattro 10-14-2011 12:04 PM

Like i said in the above post, got it free from my uncle like 2 months ago. Cant beat free :) , and quality brand too.

sorry for the super late reply but just a couple questions... so you tapped the rca cables to the bose amp and the remote to the fuse box? where can i get some stuff to tap the rca cables and also does the trunk rattle a lot?
