Default Installed VMR Test Pipe.. siiickkkk

So i posted about a week ago talking how my cat was plugged and i was throwing a test pipe in there in its place.. my APR chip has the test pipe code out on it, so i didnt have to worry about throwing a CEL.. the pipe i got is sold on an ebay store, the company is VMR tuning i believe.. the only thing "special" about this pipe is that they welded a heat shield shell around the 2.5" pipe to help keep heat from eminating into the engine bay.. how well it actually really works? im not so sure of.. but i guess it couldnt hurt..

took out my cat, and as i was taking it out the element fell right to the bottom hahah it was such a mess.. but that made me happy cause i knew i was gunna see a huge difference..

now the seller says it fits all B5 and B6 A4s.. and mostly it did.. except when i sat the flange onto the turbo the bottom right hand side of the shell was hitting the bell housing of the tranny..

sooo me and my mechanic had to do some.. "tuning" to the shell.. with a hammer.. made a nice little concave in it to curve around and leave airspace between the bell housing and the shell.. since the shell is very hard.. and hollow it wasnt a problem making the dent in it so that it fit correctly.. so if anyone else plans on using this pipe, youll prolly have to etch it with a marker and make some adjustments accordingly..

but after she was in.. wowwww.. ill back up what i read on here and other forums.. if youre thinking about a test pipe, and you have the means (emission laws, test pipe program, or Oxy fowlers) then do it.. i hold boost longer, it holds harder, it spools quicker.. and gives you a little more growl on your exhaust.. i have a 2.5" borla downpipe, and 2.25" borla exhaust to the tips, with mid resonator and rear muffler, and this thing barks.. im not a huge fan of having a super loud exhaust, maybe cause i like to be able to talk to people in my car, i hate drone.. and i think its much more classy to have a lower key exhaust until you get on the gas.. but the first day i felt like it was too loud.. now im starting to love it.. really sounds good, its a nice mellow borla tone, just a few decibles louder..

all in all, test pipe does wonders.. perfect addition to any custom or aftermarket exhaust, especially combined with all the other bolt on mods i have.. hope this helps sway anyone on the fence!

Ditto that - get some video with sound. Good thing about this is, it just cut down your commute to the meet a little bit

And this is the video i just took, APR tuned and with VMR test pipe and same exhaust.. car is warmed up in both videos as well.. that rattle you might be able to hear is my plunger on my wastegate that is **** and loose and terrible.. new turbo in the works.. along with Kinetic Manifold perhaapsss??? yes yes i think so.. but thats for another time.. car boosts decent but not what it should.. spiking around 17 holding around 13 or so.. anyways here ya go

Thumbs up

nice bro! I need to get a vid up of mine. I have a garret test pipe and stock exhaust...well I took out the resonator and replaced the rear muffler with an ebay straight through muffler but its stock 2.17 all the way. 1.8's with test pipes sound sexy
