I plan on piecing together a FMIC as I really don't see the need to spend more than $1000 on one. I was wondering if anyone knows the sizing for the piping and the number of different angles that i'll be needing. I found a website that offers the different parts and I could get one with all the pieces for around $260, sounds alil better than that $1000 the other companys are offering. It will be hard to tell you exactly what you need to buy for this. It will probably take you buying a lot of different pipes and cutting them to fit. Also it depends on how you want to route the piping and where your intercooler end tanks end up when mounted. WAY too many variables to give a definate answer to this question.

 

i went the route of buying the intercooler and fittings separately and installing them myself. in the end i spent even more then i would have if i had just bought a $800 kit. then i had a heck of a time getting all the connections to not blow off with all the pressure.

what i would do is spend $200-300 on an intercooler, then take the rest of the money you would have spent on a kit your car to some place that can weld up some solid piping for you and mount the whole thing and make sure it fits under the stock bumper.

 

I got a smaller intercooler and 2.5" piping kit off ebay. I ended up using some of the stock rubber piping to help get around the weird bends. It will be a big PITA however you slice it, unless you pay an exhaust place to do it for you. I did have one pipe connection blow under full load, but my uncle and I welded a dot on the end of that pipe so that the clamp had something to hold on to. Plus I used double clamps! Looks funny but it *works*.
