Interested in a A4 B5 1995, 1.6L
Dear all, Good day to every one in the forum!
This will be my first ever post here on this forum, so please bear with me!
I am from Singapore, and I am a big audi fan, ever since i drove my uncle's a6, c4 extensively. ( circa 1994-1997).
While not actually looking for a new car, I stumbled upon a very interesting ad in sgcarmart: http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/i...191704&DL=1000
Its a circa 1994 audi a4 c5, which belongs to the same era as the a6 my uncle owns. I understand that a 1.6l doesnt really have much of a oomph, but i am not actually looking for performance, mainly a experience in owning a audi.
The car is actually registered in 1995, so its a good 15 years under the belt.
I called the owner, turns out to be a dealer, and he claims that the car is indeed owned by only one old owner for the past 15 years and the dealer is actually driving the car now.
He also claims that he just spent about USD$2.5K in doing up the car, which includes changing of the radiator, hose and suspension.
I know I shouldnt be naive, and thats the reason why I am posting here. Is there anything I should be concerned about the car? Besides doing a background check and all?
Or what should be some concerns with it, i.e. Problems pertaining with the particular model?
Thanks for reading, am actually quite excited to drop by a take a good long look at it.
p.s: heard there are known problems with the transmission from this model.
