Interior Trim Question: Radio trim piece
hey, i know a lot of you are very knowledgeable of the interior of these and know a bunch of you have painted the wood grain, or covered it. i was wondering how everyone removed the piece that surrounds the radio and AC controls without it breaking. i'm looking to paint it some color (not sure yet)
heres a shitty pic of the piece im talking about. any info is appreciated

If I recall, you need to remove the entire console to get at the bolts that keep it mounted. I'll double check, but I'm pretty positive of that. I pulled my old one off without doing this ( I was junking everything anyway) and I'm pretty sure I snapped off all the mounting tabs.
It does not take long to remove the console trim though, so take your time and it should come off pretty easy.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong???

there are only 2 screws? that seems too easy lol. the wood trim on the doors and dash were like, push on clips.
Yours must've been broken already Nick? *Shrug*

No it doesn't. It is screwed in as has been said. First remove the radio, and there are the screws in the far left and right under where the radio was. I have done it many times to resolder my climate control display and get the lighting to work again.
