Default just changed my fuel filter

And ummmm my gas mileage is terrible now. I fine like I am driving a tank. I am getting about 10 mpg if that. Is it because I have to give the ECU time to reset itself? I checked the fitting and they were fine. I didn't smell any gas at all.

you can't install it backwards, the fittings are different.

exactly... and I know it is installed the first way I double checked the installation and checked to see if the fittings were loose or leaking gas and they aren't so I am at a loss for now.
