Default Just finished intake polishing

I just finished polishing my intake manifold yesterday, and I think it turned out decent. I wasn't going for full mirror polish, just a semi polished look.

I'm thinking about getting a 034 coil cover and painting it red, let me know if you have any other ideas to make my engine bay look better.

There was no full writeup for removing the AEB intake and polishing it, so I used the AMB intake mani tutorial on A4Mods and polished it with my own knowledge.

My steps for sandpaper were:
80-120-220-320 dry w/ dremel sander
400 - 1000 wet sanded by hand
Finished with Al polish

Looks good, though a bigger picture would be nice! (Nvm, clicked the link for the bigger picture.)

You could also hit the throttle body, yours looks to be in pretty rough shape. That's something I've been working on.

A new coolant expansion tank would help clean up the bay too. Some other little details (I'm a stickler for details)...I would cut some new vacuum tubing for the DV and FPR. The line running to the FPR is too long and is causing it to bunch up, tapping that line for a boost gauge looks cleaner than running a line from the front port. I would also be looking to get a timing belt cover, you don't want something flying in there and mucking it up.

How did you clean yours up? There so many crevasses and corners I had no idea where to start on the TB lol.

I took off the casting marks with a file and hit the rest with sandpaper by hand. It is definitely time consuming. You can read more about it in my thread here: https://www.audiforums.com/forum/b5-...149485/page21/ (starts halfway down on page 21.)
