Default Just got a CEL!!!

Just yesterday i did an oil change on my car and today as i was driving from walmart lol my CEL came up. Does it have anything to do with me changing the oil.

Can one of those autozone lil scanners can tell what the hell happen. or i need a special scanner for Audi.

Thanks

Did you crack or pull up your dipstick tube?

Yes, Autozone should be able to read DTCs, but they can't give you sensor data if needed.

This would create a lean condition due to a vacuum leak. So yes, that is a problem. Replace the dipstick tube and the dipstick. Relatively cheap parts from the dealer. They usually stock them because the tubes become brittle and are easy to break during an oil change.

A dip stick not sealing right won't cause you to go lean. You'd have to completely be lacking a dipstick for it to make a difference... Even then you probably wouldn't notice. I doubt it'd even cause a CEL.
Bump? For what? Where are the fault codes?

A bad dipstick tube causes a type of vacuum leak. Run your car without it for long enough and you'll get a CEL, often for fuel trims out of range. The crankcases must have a sealed breather system for emission reasons. OBDII standards. I saw quite a few MILs at the dealer from loose oil caps and broken dipstick tubes on Audis, VWs, and Porsche from DIYs or quick-lubes. The tubes on 1.8Ts are really easy to crack or pull out of place. They are "held" in place by that bracket off the valve cover that makes it look like it's in place...

but we should wait for the codes before speculating further. DTCs, please!
