Default Just got Eibach Springs on my car :p

So i decided to spend a lil on lowering springs just to kinda get a feel of what its like to lower my car and stiffen the suspension a little bit. So i decided to go with the Eibach lowering springs (got em from amazon). the eibachs drop 1.4 in the front and 1.3 in the back.. took me about 3 hours to install em at the shop where i work and just wanted to share with the audi community just in case some of you guys are considering getting it.

my reviews on it are that it handles pretty good actually... you can feel a difference when taking turns now... i run stock 16" wheels and they do rub a little bit but its okay becasue they rub on the plastic cover on the inside of your wheel well and it'll just shave it off no worries (trust me ). the drop in my opinion is just perfect... not too high but not too low... it sits just right and the wheel gap is even... but this is not the end.. im planning on getting ST coilovers and what not... tell me what you guys think and if u have any questions/ comments. thanks!!

Looks great man! Im jealous i dont have a set yet, but in good time =D. Did you paint your wheels yourself? If so... what kind of paint did you use, and what is the process? Thanks!

hey thanks haha! no i didnt paint my wheels they came like that when i bought em... but if i were to paint em i would take the wheels off the car and tape up the sides of the tire (only the sides and not the threads because if u get paint on the threads they'll just wear off from driving ). after u tape up the sides clean the rim real good with a degreaser and just apply your coat of primer black (or whatever color) and then apply your primary coat then after it dries up apply the final coat of clear coat and that should be it... its pretty simple

Looks much improved! I've been thinking about springs for my car and what to do. I don't want to go as aggressive as coilovers. I'm currently running S4 springs and struts, which brought me down a little, but mostly firmed everything up. What is your ground to fender height front and rear with these springs?

Do you think you would have to sand the wheels at all? or just exactly as you said before?

yea i heard the s4 setup can be a little stiff at times but as for ground to fender height im not sure haha... you can fit two fingers in the gap that i have now idk if that helps lol

Nah i wouldnt sand em down... just incase you change your mind later and u want the original color back you can always get some rubbing alcohol or something some kind of paint stripper to take it out... primer should be good enough to give the primary coat a good finish

I wouldn't consider my S4 setup stiff by any means. The spring rates are only 350 lbs/in front and 290 lbs/in rear. I can't seem to find any published spring rates for the Eibach coils you installed. Was there anything in the packaging that indicated what the spring rates were?

A finger is rather subjective, so I was wondering what the actual measured height was. It doesn't sound like these are much lower than the S4 springs I have now.

hey Fish just an FYI your probably going to experience premature strut failure. Its generally a good idea to get aftermarket struts vs just putting stiffer spring on stock struts, as the stock struts were not designed to handle the stiffer springs. Just something to watch out for. I have also seen your headlights before on a guys car, IMO they are probably the best aftermarket headlight they make thats not a Depo/E-code, much better than the halos people run. I kind like them actually
