Default Just installed after market head unit..2 problems

I just installed an Alpine CDE-102. Here is whats going on. for 1 i cant get any reception. i have the correct adapter and have the power wire for it going to the Acc power of the head unit and still get nothing. have tried everything and looked all over for a solution and from what i have mostly read your more or less SOL getting reception with after market head unit but i cant believe that myself. It almost seems like the pin in the factory connector is to short to make a proper connection with the adapter. I am however prepared to live without the radio if i can solve problem #2

2nd problem is whenever I turn the unit on, change songs with cd or usb, or even try selecting radio stations i get a loud bass like pop in the speakers. its quite loud compared to the volume level i have selected. So dont have a clue what could be causing that concidering i have plug and play harnesses for the most part.

Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks

Probably should mention that the car is a 97 with bose and i used the harness for factory amplified systems that has the Rcas on it and other than the above i an play cds and music through usb just fine

Anyone know where to get a quality radio mounting kit for the dash?

I have a 2001 A4 with the Bose system. Called Crutchfield to price out harnesses and all that business and they told me that nobody makes a mounting kit that fits in the hole left by the radio if you have the Bose option.

Going from 4" Audi Symphony to a 2" Kenwood reciever with USB and Bluetooth. I don't think the factory radio size is different with or without the Bose option. I've seen mounting kits online that say they fit the car, but after this Crutchfield guy said nothing works with the Bose option, I don't want to drop $25 or $30 for a mount that won't fit.

Please help! Thanks

Default RCA Noise Filters

I had a shop install my alpine CDA-105. He had to install a couple RCA noise filters. Not sure if that will help you with your issues or not.. but maybe something you can look into.

Good luck

the only reason you should have any kind of noise interference would be due wrong wiring or a bad ground. bad ground it most common and is a pain in the *** to get it figured out sometimes.

Awesome! I got the Metra kit on the way and hope to knock it out sometime next week. I'm also going to try and get my windows tinted before turkey day...don't want my stuff getting stolen right after I install it. I'll get some before and after pics
