good find edgar, I might just settle for 650 & free S+H.
does anyone know if an aftermarket spring (like my NeuSpeed Race) would fit on the vmaxx strut?? and how hard this would be??
I remember reading about a guy that put his H&R springs on the vmaxx to stiffen it up...

As everybody knows the Vmaxx spring rates are pretty low which made the ride bouncy with a lot of body roll. With my new setup there's hardly any bounce, smoother ride and way less body roll. Not to mention a much firmer ride. I considered getting new coilovers before I did the swap but now I'm very happy with my suspension.
just called in earlier today and mentioned the prices people were getting the coilovers in the forum and they gave me a reasonable price... $599 shipping included for a full set. cant wait to get them...im getting them for my fwd 1998 audi 1.8t. i mentioned if i was going to get the updated or the regular ones. he said there were only one kind for fwd. am i still going to be able to lower my rear as much as every one else with v-maxx?
Funny you ask because I have Vmaxx coils and I just swapped those springs out and fitted my Intrax springs to the struts this past weekend...such an improvement.

sweet!! so it IS doable!!
so I'm thinkin all aftermarket springs are the same dimensions (not talkin about spring rate or length obv) as the stock ones in order to fit in its place. so if ur Intrax springs (which I've never heard of btw) fit on the strut then I dont see why other (aftermarket or not) springs wouldnt.... lol idk if u guys get what im trying to say here!
but anyways thats awesome, I'm deffinately gettin me a set of these and switching my NeuSpeed race on them!
specially w/ that $599 (S+H incl) price! oh and where did u get this price again?? are we still talkin about eurosport design? thanks!

No, i emailed stratmosphere and mentioned that someone got them for $450 from them and that i would really like a good price for their coilovers. I knew they werent going to give them to me for $450 but i was aiming for a good discount and i got it.. They emailed me back the next day expaining why they couldnt give me the $450 price but that they would sell them to me for $599 s&h included.
For the fronts you'll notice that the bottom of the spring sits up on the top edge of the perch because the diameter of the bottom coil of the spring is smaller (i assume all aftermarket springs are the same here because they're aftermarket stock replacements)- instead of grinding the spring i angled the edge down of the adjustable perch so the spring sat around it evenly.
So to answer your question, im sure any aftermarket lowering springs will work because they all have to fit the same stock shock. My Intrax springs sat at about the same height as H&R sports when I had them on stock shocks so they weren't all that low. Right now I'm at 24.5" gtf in the front and about 24.75" gtf in the back. The rears are as low as they can go now. Because they are much stiffer springs, (especially in the rear) they will not go as low as when the original vmaxx springs are used. My fronts can still go much lower though.
I probably have about 500 miles on the new setup and everything is solid.

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing that Mike Hood runs/ran Intrax springs on his car so if that's true then his ride height is what mine was with stock shocks.

anything on the group buy maybe eurosport design will do a group buy...??
