Just put new timing belt on...HELP!

Is the black piece on the right or do we rotate it? Waiting on your responses...thanks! This is a 2001 A4 1.8t AWM engine

that piece shouldnt be there as for as i know but i dont know much about the awm engine. I have the aeb and i can tell you that black piece was not there.

curious to know how the install went on the AWM engine i was going to mine before the mishap [:@]
