Can the k03 be directly replaced by a k04 or are other mods or parts required? Where can I get a k04 asap? (or k03 if not worth upgrading?) I have a 97 a4 1.8t quattro.

 

Direct swap. Just make sure to have new gaskets/bolts. The k04 isnt much of an upgrade from a k03. Especially if you are sticking to stock tuning. I'd try to find a k03S from an 01 B5 or B6.

Or what about a t28? That requires more mods right? What is the best option for best performance bolt-on with no immediate mods required? I also have no clue the best and quickest way to get one

So I replaced the turbo with a new k03 just so there would be no issues... Now im still not getting boost... Before when I forced boost by clamping line goin to waste gate actuator the car would buck like crazy now it does not. The n75, bosch chip on intake box, and maf are new and there are no vac leaks and perfect fuel pressure. What else can it be?!

 

In other words...Seems like pressure is constantly going through n75 and keeping waste gate open. The scan is saying the maf is telling n75 40% whatever that means? We have also tried a used ecu but its from an automatic 97 a4 1.8tq mine is the same but a 5sp. Anyways same result.

 

Have you replaced the DV?
