Keegan's timeline :D
THIS POST NEEDS ITS OWN THREAD CAUSE ITS AWESOME
My hood.
My chalkboard hood
Well today was in the 60-70s and I decided it would be better than nothing, so lets knock out the hood! I had no idea what I was doing in reality, and I can now share my know how with you guys!
Went to Lowes, and walked around for half an hour. Came out with this:

Kiltz2 latex indoor/outdoor primer
Valspar chalkboard paint
220 grit sandpaper
320 grit sandpaper
Small foam roller
Mineral spirits
Microfiber cloth
rolls/tape/etc (normal painting supplies)
First step was to wash the hood with normal dish soap and water. Then I dried it with a cotton towel, followed by mineral spirits and the microfiber cloth.
Next I wet sanded with the 220 grit paper. This really showed me there was no turning back, because it raped my clear coat (which is good, due to the primer)

\

Next I started on with the primer. I used half a quart overall, no specific 2 coats or whatever. I started on the drivers side, primed across, then just skipped around till the whole hood was white. DRY Sanded it smooth with 220 grit, and layed down more primer. Then I DRY sanded with 220 followed by 320 to get it smooth. No wet sanding because the paint wasn't super dry. You cant see a difference in coats lol

Then I layed down SO MUCH PAINT. 2/3 of a quart. Just kept covering and covering.
Havent sanded it (yet) not sure if I want to risk that

Doesnt look like total **** when your 2 feet away or farther.
Shoulda used a brush or a paint gun
Let me reword that. Use a damn paint gun. Roller = texture = meh

put more coats of paint, wet sand it with 800grit then 1000grit. Then buy a **** load of clear coat and spray the **** out of it evenly. Make sure you spray at a proper distance so that its smooth, thick, but not so thick it will run.
Your hood looks like a fat chicks *** all bumpy textured and gross! LOL
Seriously tho do your whole car so I can decide if I want to. I really really do but not 100% on it!
