Key Fob programming stumped
I have a 99.5 A4 and the only remote we got with the car failed to work.
I replaced the battery,
Also used a remote signal tester at a repair shop.
Re-programming works up to the point of the side marker blink to signify the car gets the signal, but the remote wont lock or unlock the doors.
(the doors do lock or unlock via the key and interior button).
Since the original remote seemed to have a wimpy signal on the testor, Adifferent remotebutton portionfor the model year was used in the programming sequence.
This also got the lights to blip as though programmed, but it too won't lock or unlock the car.
Has anyone else gone through this??
The shop asked a dealer contact and they too are stumped.
