So I try to lock my drivers door and the key only spins both ways, it will work in the trunk but not the trunk any ideas? if it is the tumbler how do i get a tumbler to work with my key? or do i have to buy both as a pair?

haha alright so if i go to manually unlock my drivers door my key rather than spinning a quarter turn and stopping either way to unlock or lock the door it will continue to spin freely both ways. I can spin it clockwise 500 times if i want or i can spin it counter clockwise 500 times theres nothing

 

I think you key lock is kinda broken

i'd take it to the stealership and see what they would quote you to get a new one

 

or you can go to a junk yard and find a A4 and take of that part and install your self because once you take the door apart at the junk yard you'll know how to take yours off well except if you one of those guy's that like's to umm let me see if i can put this in nice words RIP **** OFF lmao

 

Haha yah did some research and it sounds like my tumbler is all busted up, so imma be calling a locksmith and see how i go about fixing it. Im hoping i don't have to get new keys.

 

That;s the first time i hear about those thing's breaking man what were you doing like puting your key in and then spartan kicking it until it opened for you? lol

 

ahaha no way man, just bought it and thats how i got it.

 

I have 2002 a3 and sometimes the ignition key just spins, at the same time remote lock will not work and external locks also don,t work. leave a few minutes and all is o.k. HELP!!
